A. Dodge Charger
Q. What’s the worst job you’ve ever had
A. Selling cemetery plots. I lasted 3 days. Haha!
Q. Tell us about your professional background, how’d you get started
A. It seems I’ve been decorating my whole life. I was the decorator for friends and family many years before I became a professional 8 years ago. I started out “flipping” houses and they would sell in days because I always staged them. That got Realtors interested. They started using me and then the clients that I had staged for would have me back to decorate their new homes.
Q. In what professional groups or trade associations are you active
A. BBB of Charlotte, Angie’s List, Charlotte Business Professionals, International Association of Home Staging Professionals (IAHSP), Charlotte IAHSP Regional Chapter, Charlotte Area Realtors
Q. How do you describe your approach to your trade or the approach you take with clients?
A. In order to understand the needs of a new client, you have to be a good listener, be knowledgeable, creative and flexible. I stay on top of the latest trends, demographics and best places to shop in order to best serve my clients. My goal, always, is to exceed their expectations.
Q. What do you think will be the biggest single factor affecting your industry over the next five years?
A. Decorating: That it’s now more affordable. It’s not just for the very rich anymore. Staging: Realtor education. The instant return on investment (ROI) you get when you Stage the house.
