Position Summary

Homemade Design is seeking an experienced residential interior designer based in Southern California, Boston or New York who can exceed client expectations by providing exceptional interior design consultation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Interior design consultation focused on assisting residential homeowners to derive maximum value from their design budgets

  • Creation of color palettes and coordination with custom fabrics, drapery, wall coverings, finishes, etc.

  • Specifications for furniture, fixtures, fabric, flooring, lighting, appliances, window and wall coverings and accessories.

  • Space planning and furniture layouts including scale drawings via Google SketchUp, CAD or similar

  • Assist clients with the evaluation and selection of contractors and residential service providers based upon their unique project objectives

Required Qualifications

  • Related educational background, such as a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design or equivalent

  • 5+ years residential interior design experience including working for a professional interior design firm

  • History of active membership in ASID, IIDA or similar trade association

  • Experience specifying products offered by HMD vendors

  • Renovation and remodeling project management experience including familiarity with building codes and construction best practices

  • Must be extremely online / internet savvy and capable of managing projects and multiple client interactions using web-based CRM tools such as Salesforce.com.

  • Ability to work remotely from an existing home office
